The estate and the wine |
|
|
One of the most distinguished estates of Saint-Emilion, having earned two stars in the famous French wine Guide of the RVF, the Château Larcis-Ducasse is an address discreetly shared by wine amateurs in the know. The success of this First Growth in the last twenty years is undeniable, thanks to the supervision of Nicolas Thienpont and Stéphane Derenoncourt’s teams.
The 11 hectares in a single block, facing the Dordogne Valley, are like a garden, located on one of the best-exposed slopes of the appellation. Facing south, at the end of the famous Cote Pavie, this wine of great class has an exceptionally velvety texture, spicy tannins, and an amazing aging potential. All are designed to place it amongst the elite of the appellation. An address shared by wine connoisseurs only. |

Taking on the attributes of its older sibling in a softer, more immediate version, the 2016 Red Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Murmure de Larcis-Ducasse offers an elegant and energetic palate. The flavors are pure and clear, the tannins fresh and delicate. A wonderful bottle of great style, which is already amiable, to be discovered slowly over the next decade. |
