Unctuous and light, this cuvée with its ample, well-structured tannins reveals a lovely juiciness and offers good ageing potential. |

The estate and the wine |
Barr-Eden Estate is an absolutely unique wine estate, nestled in a natural setting in the Barossa Valley and Eden Vally, in southeastern Australia, at an altitude of almost 500 meters. This privileged altitude, coupled with ancient terroirs of schist and gneiss and careful ageing without new wood, produces perfectly mature wines that have nothing to envy of their Rhodanian counterparts, from which they draw much of their inspiration. |

From a vineyard nearly 90 years old from which only the best grapes are hand-selected, the 2016 red Eden Valley Love Over Gold Shiraz is the estate's grand cuvée. Limited production and careful aging in 500-liter barrels, without new wood, compete with its craze since its first vintage in 2014. The estate has set the bar very high, delivering a complex, dense wine with a perfect creamy texture and nuanced scents of thyme, lavender, red and black berries, black olive and mocha. Tannins and structure form an assured whole of insane persistence and obvious charm. Impressive! Rated 97/100 by Parker. |
