The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Located near Maury, in the heart of the Agly Valley, protected to the north by the Corbières hills and to the south by the Pyrenees, Mas Amiel comprises 170 hectares of vines. Its history began in 1816 when a Bishop gambled some land he owned in a card game and lost it to Raymond Etienne Amiel. Nearly two centuries later, the reins of the estate were taken up by a new owner, Olivier Decelle.
Wine The Muscat de Rivesaltes 2008 is an extremely fine "vin doux naturel". This is a crisp, delicious Muscat "par excellence", that really must be enjoyed with marinated salmon at Christmas. Fresh and fruity, this is a lightly sparkling wine, full of freshness, that gives up a bouquet of sensational aromas to which Mas Amiel alone knows the secret.
Vinification Hand harvested, vinification in stainless steel vat.
