The estate and the wine |
Located near Maury, in the heart of the Agly Valley, protected to the north by the Corbières hills and to the south by the Pyrenees, Mas Amiel comprises 170 hectares of vines. Its history began in 1816 when a Bishop gambled some land he owned in a card game and lost it to Raymond Etienne Amiel. Nearly two centuries later, the reins of the estate were taken up by a new owner, Olivier Decelle. |

The 2008 vintage Maury is huge! It is baroque, rococo, art deco. It is black in colour and red in fruit! This wine possesses all the fine lines of the most intense, the most expressive and the most polished style of Maury. A perfect match for all red fruit desserts, it is a real blackcurrant "coulis", a delight on the palate. |
