The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine There’s a new star rising in the heart of the Languedoc—Mas de Bret has officially entered the ring with the South’s finest.

Inspired by the legendary Éloi Dürrbach of Trévallon, this estate crafts unforgettable wines built to the highest standards.

We’re talking organic farming, massal selections from vine guru Lilian Bérillon, horse-plowed soils, wild-yeast fermentations, whole-cluster vinifications, and ageing in Stockinger foudres. In short: no shortcuts—just pure excellence.

Since 2013, owner Jean-Luc Placet has been sculpting intensely personal, micro-production wines from just 2 hectares. The result? Ultra-rare bottles that insiders can’t get enough of.
Wine The 2022 IGP Alpilles Red is a smart blend of Syrah, Cabernet, and Cinsault—Mediterranean at heart, but with serious finesse. It opens with classy graphite notes, then unfurls into beautifully balanced black fruit, hints of spice, and a touch of dried herbs. The oak? Perfectly judged—never overdone. Fine-grained tannins, elegant structure, and a fresh, vibrant finish make this a standout bottle. Drink it now or cellar it for up to a decade. A Selection Committee favorite—rated 95/100.
Vinification Hand-harvested. Whole-cluster fermentation with native yeasts. Aged for 18 months in 25-hectolitre foudres, followed by 12 months in bottle before release. Bottled without fining or filtration.

Certified organic.
