The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Michel Chapoutier, a true icon of the Rhône Valley, has assembled a phenomenal collection of crus. His remarkable winemaking talent and intimate knowledge of the land allow him to uncover the region’s finest terroirs like no one else.

Year after year, his wines deliver some of the most refined and authentic expressions of their appellations.
Wine Sourced from the estate’s namesake vineyard, the 2019 Saint-Joseph Le Clos Red is part of the Maison’s prestigious parcel selections, highlighting the appellation’s finest exposures and plots. After an extended maceration, the grapes are aged for 20 months in barrels, with around a quarter being new oak — bringing subtle layers of spice and structure. The result is a dense, full-bodied wine, with deep black fruit aromas, touches of graphite, and hints of spice, all carried by a remarkably elegant and refined texture. A wine that goes far beyond the usual standards of its appellation, built for long aging. Pure granite in a glass! Awarded 94+/100 by Robert Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested in small crates. Alcoholic fermentation in small 30-hectolitre concrete vats with a long maceration period of around 5 weeks. Aged in oak barrels for 20 months, 25% of which are new barrels.

Certified organic and biodynamic wine.
