The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Michel Chapoutier is the undisputed star of the Rhône Valley, with a phenomenal catalog of vintages to his name. An outstanding ambassador and pioneer of biodynamic viticulture, driven by a vision of great wine, this instinctive winemaker is world-renowned; his wines are absolutely consistent, delivering the most accomplished expressions of their respective terroirs.
Wine A plot-based cuvée produced in small quantities, the 2020 red Côte Rôtie Neve is a pure Syrah from a special terroir, a schist and micaschist hillside in the commune of Ampuis, with south-southeast exposure. Combining structure and finesse with sublime intensity, it abounds in black fruit, graphite and spice aromas, in a powerful, rich and precise body.
Vinification Hand-harvested, 100% de-stemmed, vinified in crude concrete vats, alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, vatting for 4 to 5 weeks with regular pumping-over at the start of maceration, followed by a few punchings of the cap, maceration with work on the lees for the last 3 weeks, aged in 228-liter Burgundy barrels (25% new) for 14 to 18 months, depending on the vintage.

Certified organic and biodynamic wine.
