The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine The undisputed star of the Rhône Valley, Michel Chapoutier alone boasts an extraordinary portfolio of crus. A distinguished ambassador and pioneer of biodynamic winemaking, driven by a vision of exceptional wine, this intuitive vintner enjoys global acclaim; his wines are unfailingly consistent, revealing the most refined expressions of their respective terroirs.

Especially in the Hermitage terroir, his favored land, he crafts legendary single-vineyard cuvées. These terroir-specific wines reach the pinnacle of complexity and elegance, designed for aging and evoking profound emotion.
Wine The renowned single-vineyard, the 2020 white Hermitage Chante-Alouette, serves as a fabulous introduction to this terroir and so much more! The nose, with its pronounced maturity, unveils aromas of beeswax, honey, yellow and white fruits, and hints of woody vanilla. The palate stays true to its origin, offering great breadth, richness, and a creamy texture, encapsulating the sunlit essence of the vintage, with honeyed notes underscored by mineral bitters in the finish. Simply sumptuous! Best enjoyed with refined dishes such as creamy poultry, morels, salmon koulibiac, or with fine aged cheeses like comté, reblochon, or the chalky tomme from Aravis. Rated 95/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested, fermented and aged in stainless steel vats (50-60%) and demi-muids (40-50%).

Certified biodynamic wine.
