Rich and velvety, carried by the right level of maturity, the 2021 red Lirac La Lorentine surpasses its appellation. As Olivier Poussier summarizes, "The best Lirac property owners are always those from Châteauneuf," and this wine illustrates it wonderfully. Its full, pulpy, velvety character is complemented by aromas of black fruits and spices, blackcurrant, and blackberry. Hand-picked in 50 kg crates. The grapes are first sorted in the vineyard, then in the cellar. The grapes are then destemmed and crushed. Vinification identical to that of Châteauneuf du Pape: destemming, temperature control and daily pumping-over.
Aged in concrete vats and foudres. |
