The 2024 Red Crozes-Hermitage Friandise lives up to its name—this is pure indulgence in a glass. Showcasing beautifully ripe Syrah, it opens with a fresh, precise nose full of smoky, savoury aromas that call to mind sizzling bacon and a dash of black pepper. On the palate, it’s just as captivating: juicy, clean, and deliciously unadorned, delivering maximum pleasure over a silky web of velvety tannins. You could lay it down for five years—if you can manage to keep your hands off it that long. A favourite of the Selection Committee, which awarded it 93/100. |

Hand-harvested grapes from vines aged 10 to 30 years, grown on the Les 7 Chemins plot. The fruit is fully destemmed, followed by a cold pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel tanks, never exceeding 26°C, with pump-overs morning and evening. The wine remains on the skins for 2 to 3 weeks before maturing for 8 to 10 months in concrete and stainless steel vessels to preserve its pure character.
