The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Brilliant oenologist and elected Best Winemaker in Argentina, Roberto de la Mota is the pioneer behind Cheval des Andes, the iconic cuvée of the LVMH group. Since 2003, he has been working as an artist at his own Mendel Wines estate in the heart of Mendoza.

In a preserved setting, with very old vines and organic practices, he crafts sumptuous wines, steering clear of any showy effects. Prioritizing the finesse and freshness that these dream terroirs can provide, he offers a renewed version of Argentine malbec; these are high-class wines that our expert sommeliers have long recognized…
Wine Benefiting from superb grape maturity, the 2020 red Organic Malbec 1928  releases delicious aromas of blackcurrant and dark fruits in a dense and deep nose. The palate offers concentrated flavors, velvety tannins, both power and elegance. It's a serious, full yet silky wine, very distinguished, remaining fresh, with consistently juicy fruit. A model of Malbec, crafted for at least 10 years of aging. A Selection Committee Favorite, rated 94/100.
Vinification Hand harvested from vines planted in 1928. Traditional vinification. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
