The tasting
Color Dark red, almost black, some garnet reflections.
Nose Very pure, concentrated, beautiful maturity, with notes of black fruits, wild blackberry on a graphite background.
Palate The palate confirms it with a duo of density and velvety and coated tannins. The evolution of this wine is certainly positive, with a potential of 5 to 6 years of ageing, it certainly has the stature for it.

Food Leg of lamb in a herb crust, duck breast with spices, sautéed beef rib and candied shallots, matured farmhouse Saint-Nectaire cheese.

The estate and the wine Château Mondorion is shaking up the established order of the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru hierarchy, benefiting from the experienced Cruse family, who took over the property in 2013. Nowadays, Thibault Cruse is in charge of this gem of an estate, a confidential address that has become a must-have for every amateur. 

The terroir of sand and gravel as well as the careful winemaking techniques and a particular attention to details helps to shape extremely elegant wines that honor their appellation. 

We present to you today the second wine of this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Etoiles de Mondorion, on one of the most beautiful vintages of these last years. A bargain offer that will not be presented twice...
Wine The 2015 Red Etoiles de Mondorion Saint-Emilion Grand Cru opens with a very pure, concentrated, beautifully mature nose, with notes of black fruits, wild blackberry on a graphite background. A wine with a lot of class that still seems very young. The palate confirms it, delivering itself with density and velvety and pleasant tannins. The wine will continue to evolve beautifully for another 5 to 6 years. Pair it with a leg of lamb for example. Rated 92/100 by our Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested in small crates. Sorting of the harvest in the cellar. Total destemming. Alcoholic fermentation in lined concrete vats. Automatic temperature control. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels of 2 wines.
