The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine In the far north of Alsace, Mélanie Pfister crafts wines of depth, elegance, and gastronomic finesse.

Awarded 2 stars by the French wine guide RVF, her 11-hectare estate draws out the nuances of its limestone terroirs, shaping each parcel’s expression through biodynamic farming into wines now prized by top restaurants.

Trained with some of the world’s finest—Méo-Camuzet, Cheval Blanc, Zind-Humbrecht—and a qualified oenologist, Mélanie Pfister brings a pragmatic yet deeply thoughtful approach. Her commitment to the environment is visible at every level: massal selections, meticulous soil work, and a responsible, sustainable ethos that spans carbon footprint monitoring, green electricity, lighter, lower-profile glass bottles, and careful water use—every detail considered, never excessive.
Wine The 2023 White Alsace Grand Cru Engelberg Riesling comes from a 1.60-hectare parcel originally planted to Riesling with a touch of Gewurztraminer. The nose is delicate and refined, with white flower aromas, citrus zest, and subtle hints of citrus peel. This vintage is beautifully balanced, with a linear structure, vibrant acidity, and a refreshing lift. The finish reveals fine mineral bitterness and a saline edge. It’s a precise, airy wine—invigorating and elegant. Rated 93/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested on October 7, 2023. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Aged for 18 months on fine lees until bottling in summer 2025. Residual sugar: 2.0 g/l.
Engelberg: the mountain of angels, Grand Cru classified terroir, stony clay-limestone soil, Middle Jurassic oolitic limestone base, south-facing.

Certified organic wine.
