The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Brilliant oenologist Peter Sisseck—affectionately known as Pingus—has transformed the Spanish wine landscape. In the heart of Ribera del Duero, he established Dominio de Pingus in the 1990s, recognizing the extraordinary potential of ancient Tempranillo vines.

With a commitment to organic and biodynamic practices, near-century-old vines, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, luxurious aging in oak foudres, prized terroirs, and native grape varieties, every element contributes to the singularity of this iconic wine, now regarded as a cru in its own right.

Pingus has ascended to become one of the world’s greatest wines, earning a perfect 100/100 Parker rating on numerous occasions, including the 2021 vintage we present to you. Sisseck’s relentless pursuit of excellence has positioned Pingus as a beacon, leading the renaissance of the Iberian Peninsula.

Wine Crafted from old vines of Tempranillo, Grenache (8%), and other indigenous varieties selected from the coolest terroirs of the appellation, the 2021 Ribera del Duero PSI Red represents an ambitious project to preserve varietal heritage. This cuvée captures the incredible depth and complexity of these exceptional vineyards with unmatched energy and precision. Produced from over 7,000 parcels, it is vinified using indigenous yeasts, organic farming practices, and ageing in large wooden vats and French oak barrels. With a new winemaking team and cellar master debuting with this vintage, the wine continues to impress after 20 months of ageing. The cool, dry conditions of 2021 have given this vintage an unusually refined character, making it immediately approachable, with superior elegance and silky tannins. Once again, a triumph! Rated 93+/100 by Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested. Vinification in concrete vats. Aged for 20 months in foudre (80%) and fût (20%).
