The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Opus One is an iconic wine, propelled by two major figures of the world wine industry - Philippe de Rothschild (Château Mouton-Rothschild) from Bordeaux and Robert Mondavi from California. A wine that fascinates the entire world! This cuvée created in the late 70s had the ambition to revolutionize the world hierarchy of great wines by inserting this Californian terroir: a feat now done!

In the footsteps of its brother-in-arms, Château Mouton-Rothschild, Opus One never seizes to amaze and attract the attention of wine lover everywhere. On this Californian terroir, the Cabernet Sauvignon is simply superb, reaching new heights of talented viticulture with the help of the Bordeaux expertise of the Grand Cru Classés (Classified Growth) of Pauillac.

Opus One does not fit into any classification, nor does it suffer from any comparison: its inimitable style and its aura sets it apart from all others.
Wine Intense and deep, the 2018 Red Opus One expresses itself on rich notes of black fruits, ripe aromas of fruits mixed with touches of tea, spices and cocoa. This complex and varied aromatics resonates on the palate, in a compact texture, surrounded by abundant fruit and firm tannins, and above all a remarkable freshness carried by the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety! Mineral and intense, this vintage is a class of its own. Already impeccable at this stage, it promises great ageing and above all, intact pleasure for many years to come.
