The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine As the largest owner of the Gigondas appellation, Domaine Amadieu has made a specialty of crafting powerful and tasty wines, built for long aging.

With breathtaking plots of land on the best high altitude terroirs of the appellation, clinging to the Dentelles de Montmirail, Pierre Amadieu harvests his Grenache and Clairette grapes at perfect maturity, forging wines of character, matured for a long time in tuns, that are built to withstand years of aging.
Wine The 2019 Red Gigondas Romane Machotte is an opulent and powerful wine, with nice aromas of spices, garrigue, black fruits, with a touch of peony brought by the dominant grenache grape variety. The palate is marked by a tannic presence and black fruit coulis flavors, offering a nice balance, a lot of mineral freshness and a liquorice finish. Its power will allow it to be accompanied by generous dishes, such as game birds and tasty red meats. A very nice bottle rated 92/100 by our Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested. Fermentation of 21 days in concrete tanks. Aged the old fashioned way for 12 months in oak barrels and tuns.
