The estate and the wine |
Penfolds is an incredible success story! The estate owes its worldwide fame to its iconic wine: Grange. This extraordinary wine has a unique style, class and depth without any equivalent on the continent, but its influence goes far beyond the Australian lands: it is on a par with the greatest wines of the planet, unanimously acclaimed by critics worldwide. |

Rated 99/100 by Parker, the 2016 Red Southern Australia Grange is an impressive and sculptural wine. True to the style that forged its legend, aged 100% in new American barrels, it develops intense youthful flavors of cedar, vanilla, coconut and black fruits. Magnificently concentrated, the palate takes up this toasted and fruity tone, with silky tannins, a nice freshness and a long finish. Its potential is of course phenomenal, the question is just to know if you will enjoy it more after 30 or 40 years…! |
