The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A rising star in the Rhône with a 1-star rating from RVF, Julien Pilon has captivated the most discerning wine enthusiasts, and his wines are now highly sought after. Trained by some of the greats (Yves Cuilleron, Pierre Gaillard, Pierre-Jean Villa, Mas Amiel), this winemaker employs advanced vinification techniques, deeply attuned to the nuances of his terroirs.

His wines, hailing from the finest appellations of Northern Rhône, delight those who appreciate freshness and purity. His whites are devilishly precise, and his reds are equally impressive! However, the flip side of success and limited quantities is, unfortunately, that sourcing them can be challenging…
Wine Earning an enormous favorite pick from our Committee with a 96/100 rating, the 2022 red Côte Rôtie La Porchette captures the essence of a great, intensely ripe and juicy Syrah, expertly nurtured and brought to life through accomplished aging. Its deep, fragrant juice, with hints of spices and Sichuan pepper, strikes an ideal balance where the dense, robust fruit, fine tannins, and velvety aspect blend seamlessly with very well-managed and fitting oak aging. A perfect ensemble that's already incredibly enticing! But above all, it's a great wine that will continue to shine for another five to ten years.
Vinification Hand-harvested, vinified in stainless steel vats, aged 18 months in barrels (30% new).
