The estate and the wine |
Annick and Francis Jourdan set down roots in Chinon just a decade ago—and since then, their reputation has only grown, driven by talent, dedication, and a clear vision.
Their 17 hectares, stretching from the plains along the Vienne River to the slopes of Cravant, are farmed biodynamically and vinified with precision. Each wine is a focused, pure expression of its terroir—thoughtful, clean, and deeply rooted in place. |

Still in its youth, the 2021 Chinon Les Varesnes Red opens with dark fruit aromas and refined graphite notes. The palate is concentrated and beautifully ripe, with firm, structured tannins that promise excellent aging potential. A finely made wine to enjoy over the next 6 to 8 years—decanting recommended if drinking now. Rated 92/100 by our Selection Committee. |
