The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A star of the Northern Rhône Valley, known for his Côtes-Rôties, René Rostaing set foot in the Languedoc in the late 90s, at Domaine Puech Noble, 15 km from Nîmes. On limestone terroirs very different from the schist they have mastered to perfection further north, Pierre and René Rostaing have created a range of utterly seductive wines in which Syrah and Viognier naturally have their place. Blended with southern grape varieties, they deliver a frank and flavorful expression of the region, vinified to perfection.
Wine With over 80% Syrah, the 2018 red Puech Noble wine demonstrates the relevance of this grape variety in Languedoc's warm-climate soils, with the finesse and depth of its fresh terroir. Notes of ripe fruit, pepper, violets, and Mediterranean herbs mingle in a full, intense palate with velvety tannins. You can feel the Côte Rôtie winemaker's unrivaled talent for magnifying Syrah! Aging for a few more years, serve with braised beef cheek with carrots or rack of lamb with thyme.
Vinification Hand harvested, traditional vinification, fermentation with indigenous yeasts and long maceration, aged in barrels (15% new).
