We are delighted to find Boyd-Cantenac so expressive in 2023: lovers of robust Bordeaux wines fit for long aging, this one’s for you!
This cru is a reliable gem of Margaux, consistently excellent. Once part of Château Cantenac-Brown, Château Boyd-Cantenac has since become independent while maintaining the character of its prized clay-gravel terroir, which imparts depth and flair to the wines from this area. Lucien Guillemet works with precision and restraint, never compromising on the rigor or power of his soils: he prefers to harvest his Cabernets fully ripe, avoiding any concessions to trends, and producing wines that are always powerful and strict but with a remarkable aging capacity.
There’s no hesitation in acquiring this cru En-Primeurs, guaranteed for long aging, especially with the 2023 vintage offering a more favorable price... A discreet Margaux that stands as one of the best deals in the appellation. |
