The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Part of Nicolas Thienpont’s outstanding portfolio—best known for Château Pavie-Macquin—Château Alcée is one of those insider favourites that quietly make waves behind the scenes.

Thienpont acquired this limestone plateau site nearly 15 years ago, where deep red clay sits just above the rock—a terroir of serious potential now fully coming into its own.

This 12-hectare estate may be small in size, but it’s treated with the care and precision of a Grand Cru. And in 2024, Alcée firmly joins the ranks of the Right Bank’s top performers.

The wine delivers generous, ripe fruit with supple texture and depth, lifted by 7% Cabernet Franc that adds freshness and aromatic lift. It’s elegant, finely structured, and shows impressive balance—at a price that’s still remarkably accessible.

A brilliant example of precision winemaking, singled out by our Selection Committee. Who says lesser-known Bordeaux can’t steal the spotlight?
