The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A haven of unsuspected treasures, the Douro produces wines of an innate freshness. Alongside the ports that have made its reputation, the region specializes in delicious reds and white wines, masterpieces made possible by the altitude, the local grape varieties, the schist soils and the respect for the traditions of this part of Europe, which preserves a Dantesque vine culture, clinging to the slopes overlooking the river.
Wine With a very ripe profile, the 2019 Red Douro Dourosa delivers a deep, dark juice, blending together flavors of black fruits, cherry in particular, and graphite, with a smoky edge. It is a very mature whole, contained by a beautiful freshness. The palate is dense and velvety, with a full, tasty texture, and a fruity and peppery finish. A beautiful wine to pair with a roasted duck with cherries or a shoulder of lamb with rosemary! Rated 93/100 by our Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested. Traditional winemaking, crushing in Lagares, then fermentation and maturing 100% in stainless steel vats.
