The estate and the wine |
|
|
Matias Riccitelli is likely producing some of the most exciting wines in Argentina! Located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains, over 1000 meters above sea level, his estate has become a thriving vineyard, rapidly evolving into one of the country's most prestigious in just a few years.
An indefatigable traveler and dreamer, Matias works wonders there, with manual harvesting, meticulous sorting, and aging in French oak barrels. His wines thus stand out for their elegance, capturing the refinement of this great terroir.
Considering that Matias is the son of Jorge Riccitelli, who was named Winemaker of the Year 2012 by Wine Enthusiast magazine, one might wonder if the son has already surpassed the father! |

Unique in its kind, the 2022 white Sémillon comes from an ungrafted vine in the Rio Negro region. The wine fermented in barrels, without new oak, and was then aged in a concrete egg for several months, resulting in a remarkably fresh and energetic substance. Initially, scents of beeswax, fennel, and white flowers emerge, presenting a beautiful classic tone. The ultra-fresh and lively palate offers magnificent volume and great complexity. It's astonishing to see what Sémillon can yield with old vines, limited yields, and careful winemaking. |
