The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine The Collection 243 wine - which represents the 243rd blend from the Maison Louis Roederer since its creation - is based on a multi-millimeter blend from a selection of plots chosen from the heart of Champagne's terroirs.

This unique signature, rich in the nuances of the 2018 harvest, finds additional freshness and complexity in a Réserve Perpétuelle created in 2012, without losing any of the Roederer style thanks to a wide selection of reserve wines from previous harvests, aged in French oak foudres.
Wine Aged for almost 4 years in our cellars, the Collection 243 Champagne is a large-scale wine driven by the structure of the year and the freshness and complexity of the Réserve Perpétuelle. It's a dense, deep champagne with a rich, structured framework, carried by the fleshy character of Pinot Noir and deliciously balanced by the chalky resonance of Chardonnay. The warm, gourmet style of the Collection comes through strongly, perfectly capturing the ripeness of the 2018 harvest, sanctuarized by its warm, sweet citrus and juicy yellow fruit notes. Finally, the woody grain of the reserve wines aged in tuns stretches and lengthens the material, giving it finesse and persistence in a sumptuous saline tone. This champagne can be enjoyed now or after several years of aging.
Vinification Hand harvested from August 27 to September 8, 2018, from 1/3 of the 'La Rivière' vineyard, 1/3 of the 'La Montagne' vineyard and 1/3 of the 'La Côte' vineyard and grapes from selected 'Cœur de Terroir' plots from partner winemakers.
243rd Blend: 31% perpetual reserve (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016,2017), 10% reserve wines aged in wood (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016,2017), 59% 2018 harvest. Malolactic fermentation carried out at 26%.
