The estate and the wine |
This has become the new safe haven for enthusiasts! Awarded 1 star by the RVF Guide, Mathieu Chambeyron is upending the hierarchy with his high-quality cuvées at reasonable prices.
This discreet 5-hectare estate is now among the essential values of Côte Rôtie and Condrieu, continually enchanting us by delivering straightforward wines with digestible substance where the oak does not disguise. |

A blend from two plots in the Chavaroche lieu-dit, the 2021 red Côte Rôtie La Chavarine remains a benchmark of the appellation, regardless of the vintage. This year again, the honest and pure juice finds its place within a finely carved structure where the oak remains subdued, allowing the fruit to fully express itself. It is thus a Syrah of elegance, framed by beautiful tannins, a complete and fresh wine, in perfect balance. It deserves a bit of patience and will ideally be opened at the end of the year and, of course, beyond, rated 93/100 by the Committee. |
