The estate and the wine |
Small in size but grand in style, Château Rol Valentin is a hidden treasure nestled to the east of Saint-Émilion. This discreet, meticulously run estate quietly redefines tradition with precision, passion, and exacting standards.
Born in 1994 as part of the pioneering "garagiste" movement — small-scale wineries dedicated to crafting exceptional, artisanal wines — Château Rol Valentin has since risen to the forefront of the Saint-Émilion appellation. Its wines are celebrated for their seductive charm, velvety texture, and luscious depth, consistently winning over the critics. Robert Parker, Antonio Galloni, Neal Martin, Bettane — they’ve all fallen under its spell. |

The 2019 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Red immediately captivates with its vibrant aromatic intensity, bursting with bright, expressive fruit flavours. It offers a fleshy, dense texture wrapped in an elegant yet full-bodied structure, all lifted by remarkable freshness. The careful aging in oak barrels — which lends subtle notes of spice and a touch of roundness — is seamlessly integrated, enhancing the wine's suave, creamy tannins and its refined, lingering finish. This is a Saint-Émilion of real character — modern, impeccably balanced, and ready to delight today or reward a few years of cellaring. |
