The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine You may know Julien Schaal, a distinguished name in the Alsatian vineyards. Now meet his wife, Sophie Schaal. Sharing the same philosophy and achieving equal success, this Burgundy-trained expert crafts wines under her name that are clear-cut, finely honed, and precise, sending taste buds into a frenzy.

Embracing the art of simplicity, she adheres strictly to its principles, producing wines with succinct vinification that stays true to the fruit's essence. This meticulous attention to detail safeguards the essence of the terroir, embodied in a concise yet confident range that rightfully showcases each varietal's unique identity.
Wine Always as close to the grape as possible, the 2022 white Riesling is a wine of disarming precision, but with an irresistible sweetness! Vinified without the addition of wood, it expresses all the nuances of its grape variety with conviction: a beautifully ripe harvest, expressive fruit and notes of ripe yellow fruit, underlined by hints of exotic fruit. Straightforward, precise flavors flow into a pure, very fresh framework, its beautiful vivacity combining richness and power, all on beautiful bitters, rated 92/100 by the Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested and whole grapes pressed. Natural fermentation lasts up to 3 months, followed by several months' ageing in vats.
