The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A flagship estate in Guebwiller, Domaine Schlumberger holds half of its vineyards in Grands Crus, making it the largest single owner in Alsace—a legacy that commands genuine respect. Awarded one star by La Revue du Vin de France (one of France’s most influential wine publications), it ranks among the region’s most historic producers, crafting every style of wine with exceptional precision.

The estate’s Grand Cru parcels—Kessler, Kitterlé, Spiegel, and Saering—rise along the mountainside to nearly 400 meters above sea level. The landscape is nothing short of awe-inspiring, shaped by generations of dedication: 800 kilometers of vine rows and 50 kilometers of sandstone walls, all built by hand.

Today, Séverine and her brother Thomas Schlumberger guide the domaine with unwavering commitment, farming partly with biodynamic practices. Under their leadership, every vintage is a model of consistency and excellence.
Wine The 2021 Alsace Grand Cru Riesling Saering White is a beautiful expression of purity and freshness, with a clear mineral backbone. Bright and lifted by crystalline, delicately smoky notes, it also reveals subtle floral accents and white fruit aromas. The palate is clean and precise, marked by a saline touch and a fine, lingering bitterness. Structured, almost tannic in its grip, and impressively persistent, this is a remarkable, layered wine with broad, mineral depth. It will age gracefully over the next decade. Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested. Whole berry pressing. Aged on fine lees. Dry wine.
