The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine André Roméro, the tutelary figure of the Rasteau appellation, has taken the Soumade estate to the top of the Rhône Valley winemaking world. Today it is his son Frédéric, advised by Stéphane Derenoncourt, who takes over these colorful and complex wines, of a density and aromatic complexity that beautifully reflects all the facets of his terroir.

These broad-shouldered, concentrated, rich wines with ripe fruit aromas are unrivaled in their appellation. It is a unique style in the Rhone Valley that we are honored to stand behind!
Wine Carried by a very beautiful aromatic complexity, the 2019 Red Cuvée Prestige Rasteau displays a beautiful freshness of style around aromas of spices, pepper, and black fruits. It is a full-bodied wine, well-structured, which offers character and a long finish. One appreciates its nice structure and its beautiful and smooth concentration. To pair with a hunting dish or a slice of nice stewed meat. Rated 92/100 by our Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested, aged for 18 months on fine lees in tuns.
