The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A young brand founded in 1966 in Avize, the Saint-Gall Champagne House has quickly found its audience of wine lovers. Focused on "blancs de blancs" champagnes made exclusively from chardonnay, which are sourced from Grands Crus and Premiers Crus only, the winery creates pure, low dosage wines that accurately reflect the luminosity of the Côte des Blancs.

With its vast vineyard, this cooperative also supplies the greatest Champagne Houses and its reputation is well established.
Wine Rated 94+/100 by our Selection Committee, the 2008 Orpale Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs is on par with the greatest champagnes of the region, driven by a radiant vintage, arguably the most complex of the decade along with 2002. The fine effervescence, the magnificent touch of toasted bread on the nose reminds us of the great origins of this 100% chardonnay made only from Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs and aged 12 years in the cellar. On the palate, style and complexity are dominant, blending delicacy with the strength and richness of the vintage and some gorgeous white truffle touches that amplify the aromatic persistence. This is a wine that can compete with the greatest prestige wines of the Champagne region; the perfect bottle of your New Year's Eve!
Vinification Hand harvested, grapes exclusively from the 4 villages of the Côte des Blancs classified "Grand Cru": Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Cramant, Avize and Oger. No malolactic fermentation for a part of the grapes. Aged in the cellars in Avize for more than a decade.
