The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Château Smith Haut Lafitte is the star of Pessac-Léognan, an estate that shines by its rigor and unfailing regularity. Everything here is designed to combine modernity with excellence: the integrated cooperage, the biodynamic agriculture, the precise selection, and blending …there is not a single false note.

Always highly rated by Parker, with a 100/100 in 2009 and a 98-100/100 for these 2020 En-Primeurs, the estate is now one of the region’s most sought-after.

Crafted from the estate’s young vines and some of the Grand Vin lots, the Haut de Smith wine is a model of success, which we are delighted to present to you today on this new vintage.
Wine The 2016 Red Pessac-Léognan Les Hauts de Smith is a model of balance and suavity, thanks to its nice proportion of Merlot (60%). Its aromas of red and black fruits and sweet spices flow in a concentrated and unctuous palate. There is a beautiful freshness and aromatic concentration all throughout the tasting. A beautiful wine to be tasted at once. Rated 91-92 by James Suckling and 90/100 by Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested. 100% destemmed. Fermentation of 4 to 6 weeks in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks. Aged for 14 months in barrels, 20% of which are new.
