The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Guided by an unwavering quest for excellence and authenticity, the Sottimano family in Piedmont produces wines of masterful finesse, capable of aging wonderfully. These providential, sincere and juicy red wines are the perfect representation of the great potential of Italian terroirs, Barbaresco, Barbera and Langhe in particular.

Generous, enthusiastic, with a strong passion for Burgundy, whose finesse they avidly aim to reproduce, the Sottimano magnify the nobility of local grape varieties, expressing all the natural elegance of this wonderful terroir. The success of this estate is in part due to the parcel-by-parcel vinification, organic farming and impeccable maturation process.
Wine The 2020 Red Langhe Nebbiolo is a splendid educational wine for Barbaresco. Notes of fresh red fruits, a touch of root and fine spices, fine tannins… one fully appreciates its delicacy and its dense fruit, without any addition of wood. The young vines located at high altitude produce crisp grapes, full of vitality, ideal for this frank and infused wine, the blessed antechamber of Barbaresco: "Barbaresco is our village " according to Andrea Sottimano! Serve it in a large glass to air it well and pair it with white meats. Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested, indigenous yeasts. Fermentation and maceration on skins for 12 days. Malolactic fermentation in barrels. Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels (25% new). Wine not fined, not filtered.
