The estate and the wine |
|
|
Château de Soucherie enjoys stunning views over the Layon hillside vineyards. Extending over 36 hectares, the estate offers a wide range of wines from dry white and sweet white, to sparkling and still reds. Taken over by M. Béguinot in 2007, the estate is now moving towards sustainable, environmentally-friendly viticulture. With the 2008 and 2009 vintages this estate is moving up in quality, and should become an important player within the Anjou appellation. |

Château de Soucherie's Champ aux Loups 2008 Red is distinguished by a lovely expression of fruit. With its delicate red fruit and violet aromas this wine is seductive and complex on the nose. On entry, the wine is powerful and generous, we very quickly find these delicious fruity notes along with a slight touch of toast and vanilla. Refined and charming, this is a very classy Anjou. |

The grapes are de-stalked before going into tank. After the cold maceration phase, fermentation starts naturally. At the end of the vatting period the wine is run into cask to carry out its malo-lactic fermentation and continue its aging in oak casks for 18 months. |
