The estate and the wine |
One of the most esteemed estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Raymond Usseglio is prized by wine enthusiasts from around the world. Producing dazzling wines of perfect balance and harmonious profile, it overshadows many of its peers with its consistency throughout the vintages and pure class.
Praised by Robert Parker and acclaimed by critics worldwide, obtaining its wines is becoming more and more difficult: as soon as a vintage is released, its wines are completely taken by storm. |

Only ten barrels are available. The 2020 Red Châteauneuf-du-Pape Part des Anges is the estate's ultimate wine, a 70% Mourvèdre-based wine aged mostly in new oak. This results in notes of vanilla, cedar, and toast, a solid and powerful palate imbued with the delicate character of the mourvèdre grape. A large bottle to be cellared for another 4-5 years before opening it with a shoulder of lamb confit for example. Rated 93-95/100 by Parker. |
