The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Joint-manager of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Aubert de Villaine applies the same vineyard work ethics to the Bouzeron terroir as he does to Vosne Romanée. No one knows his secret but the magic works every year. He gives his "hush-hush" appellations the profiles of "grands vins" and a force of expression unlike any of their peers.
Wine The Fortune 2007 easily exceeds the precepts of simple pleasure. The Pinot shows texture and uncommon finesse, it weaves around on the palate with concentrated notes of wild berries and spices. It is always fascinating to drink.
Vinification Traditional vinification, cask aging for 12 months.
