The estate and the wine |
|
|
Discovered by the Committee at the "Millésime Bio" fair, the Domaine de la Ville Rouge joins our selections with authority and evidence. Biodynamic methods, manual harvesting, and vinification with indigenous yeasts are the hallmarks of this family estate, which has been present in Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph for over a century.
Without artifice and in all discretion, it formulates pleasant wines, perfectly representative of their terroir, like this Crozes, superb of a fresh and crunchy flavors of fruit. |

The 2021 red Inspiration Crozes-Hermitage, rated 93/100 by the Committee, displays a lot of charm, with notes of violets, black fruits, and smoked bacon, in a fresh and very Rhone profile. The satiny palate, with delicate tannins, unfolds a juicy and precise structure full of fruit of good consistency. It is a perfectly successful wine, which can be enjoyed now with a grilled piece of beef or aged for another four to six years. |

Traditional vinification (pumping over and some punching of the cap) then devatting as soon as the alcoholic fermentation is finished. Maturation in vats for 80% of the harvest, then in barrels for the remaining 20%. |
