The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Barolo, the flagship of Italy, is a prized terroir that has all wine lovers in a frenzy. In this land of excellence, enchanting the hills of Piedmont, the wines align structure and elegance in a complete harmony that only a few can match. The nebbiolo offers here its best expression, reminiscent of its cousins from Burgundy, with whom it rivals in finesse and complexity.
Wine The 2017 Red Barolo Castiglione is a little gem of Italian class. At once pure, energetic, and powerful, it offers an extremely refined palate framed by firm tannins and nice volume, boosted by the solar character of the vintage. Very persistent, vibrant, and animated by very fresh flavors of fruit, it concentrates all the attributes of a great wine; really above the lot, rated 93/100 by Parker, it forces respect!
Vinification The grapes are selected from small vineyards in Barolo. The wines are vinified and aged separately before the blend. Aged for about 30 months in oak barrels and barriques.
