The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Mentored by Olivier Jullien of Mas Jullien, Jean-Baptiste Granier has been working for nearly 20 years in the Terrasses du Larzac, crafting wines under his estate, Les Vignes Oubliées. His high-altitude plots in the Saint-Privat area, rooted in schist and sandstone soils, produce outstanding grapes—and the resulting wines are nothing short of breathtaking in their power and finesse.

These are pure, deep wines made in small quantities, beloved by serious wine lovers and awarded two stars in the French wine guide RVF.
Wine Aged for two years in 600-litre demi-muids, the 2021 Le Pioch Red Terrasses du Larzac is a stunning wine that will thrill longtime fans of the estate—and newcomers alike. This is a ripe, focused, and intense wine, carrying beautiful freshness and lifted aromas of black fruit, thyme, and wild herbs. It’s Languedoc through and through—vibrant, energetic, and full of life. Produced in very small quantities. Rated 95/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand-picked harvest. 2 years in demi-muids in a natural cave and one year in the bottle. 1200 bottles produced.
