The estate and the wine |
A winemaking family deeply rooted in Burgundy since the 13th century, the Clergets continue their legacy with heart and passion. For nearly a decade, Domaine Yvon Clerget has been led by Thibaud, the family's brilliant progeny who performs exemplary work here.
With intelligence and patience, this exceptional winemaker crafts from 6 hectares of vines wines that are rich, complete, and expressive, perfectly in tune with their terroirs: Meursault, Vougeot, Corton, Pommard, and of course, the heart of the domaine, Volnay! |

Still reserved, coming from 65 ares, the 2020 red Volnay 1er Cru Carelle sous la Chapelle promises to be a grand wine, with clear notes of black fruits, plum, and mocha. The barrel aging, finely tuned with 20% new wood, releases this honest fruit, and this silky and enveloping structure, already bright with energy and freshness. Rated 92/100 by Parker. |
