The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Son of the manager at Château de la Chaize and brother to the highly regarded sommelier at the Albert Premier in Chamonix (2 Michelin stars), Laurent Matray is one of the appellations most ambitious and gifted wine producers. The vineyards are located on the Brouilly hill that overlooks the village of Odenas.
Wine The Brouilly cuvée Loïs 2008 instantly captivates us by its generosity and unparalleled crispness of fruit. The texture on the palate is superbly rich and juicy. With this amount of dense substance and notes of ripe burlat cherries, this wine is far removed from average Beaujolais standards and much closer to a Burgundy.
Vinification Hand harvested, traditional vinification (no carbonic maceration), aging in cask.
