The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Joint-manager of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Aubert de Villaine applies the same vineyard work ethics to the Bouzeron terroir as he does to Vosne Romanée. No one knows his secret but the magic works every year. He gives his "hush-hush" appellations the profiles of "grands vins" and a force of expression unlike any of their peers.
Wine The "La Digoine" Burgundy Red 2009 oscillates beautifully between firmness and smoothness on the palate. The straight-forwardness of this Pinot allows us to admire depth and an impressive aromatic range. This wine is pure expression of the terroir, the mark of the finest wines.
Vinification Hand harvested, traditional vinification, 12 months aging in casks.
