Wine:

The 2023 Condrieu La Vieille Maison White is an elegant, expressive Viognier that balances ripeness with freshness. Aromas of bergamot and subtle blond toastiness from barrel aging mingle with delicate creamy notes, creating a beautifully nuanced nose. On the palate, its depth and definition make it a superb match for refined dishes—think fish, roasted poultry, or aged cheeses. A true favorite of our Selection Committee, awarded an impressive 94/100.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Traditional pressing of whole grapes. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, then in 228-litre oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation takes place the following spring. Aged for around 12 months in 228-litre oak barrels.
35-year-old vines, grown on terraces in various locations within the Condrieu appellation.

Intense, bright yellow.

Nose:

Aromas of bergamot accompanied by a light toastiness from the ageing process and creamy notes.

Palate:

Light and fresh, with ripe fruity notes, this wine is distinctive, smooth and full-bodied, ideal for pairing with food.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Arctic char, cod blanquette, white pudding with porcini mushrooms, roast free-range poultry, mature cheeses.
