Wine:

A blend of Aligoté and Jacquère, the 2023 Vin de France Trogne White offers a ripe, orchard-fruit profile led by pear and subtle stone fruit, lifted by a fine, refreshing bitterness. This is a distinctive expression of Savoie—fermented and aged on the lees without any oak—showcasing finesse, lightness, and a beautifully mineral edge. A natural fit for seafood and dishes with a saline touch.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Slow pressing of whole grapes. No settling. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts, complete malolactic fermentation, aged for 6 months on lees in vats. Bottled on April 9, 2024. Production: 1,750 bottles.

This is the fresh new face of Savoie. Recently established on the slopes of Chignin, Ludovic Archer is reshaping the region’s reputation, with wines that are climbing straight to the top of the rankings—cited in the 2025 Guide Vert by La Revue du Vin de France, France’s leading wine publication. The critics agree: he’s the rising star of the Alpine vineyards, and discovering his work is a must.

A former engineer turned winemaker, he organically farms 2.5 hectares tucked against the Bauges Massif. Everything is done by hand—low yields, perfectly ripened grapes, whole-cluster maceration for the reds, gentle pressing for the whites, and no new oak aging. Every choice is made to craft wines with softness and integrity, allowing the fruit aromas and textures to shine through with honesty and finesse.
