Wine:

The 2018 red Hermitage Monier de la Sizeranne is once again making a big impression, "potentially the best vintage in its history at this point," according to the Parker Guide. Biodynamic, coming from the prestigious terroirs of Bessards, Méal, and Greffieux, it is a wine of great concentration, a pure Syrah with notes of violets, red fruits, dry herbs, larder as well. On this rich vintage, it demonstrates an audacious and full-bodied palate, surrounded by concentrated flavors of fruit and well-patinated tannins that bring a balancing finesse to the whole. A beautiful wine to be decanted several hours before serving, or to be aged for at least another ten years. Rated 93-96/100 by Parker.
