Wine:

Crafted from over 80-year-old Grenache vines in the La Crau sector, the 2021 red Baron de Montfaucon Châteauneuf-du-Pape fully embodies the aristocratic character of the area, showcasing its finesse and complexity. The nose is floral, blending rose and peony, offering an aroma full of freshness, preserved by well-integrated aging. This refined and infused style confidently expresses itself with both power and elegance, featuring a meaty, dense, and balanced structure, framed by smooth tannins. This is a superb bottle worth exploring over the next decade or even longer. Rated 94/100 by our Committee.

Vinification:

Harvested by hand. Total de-stemming followed by seven days' fermentation and 21 days' vatting. Aged for one year in barrels, then 10 months in concrete vats.

Intense red with carmine highlights.

Nose:

Floral and delicate, with aromas of rose and peony, a fine, infused style revealing a lovely freshness.

Palate:

Powerful and suave, the attack on the palate is elegant, with velvety tannins and a fresh, well-balanced whole.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Roasted veal chop with cherry tomatoes pan-fried in olive oil and garlic, grilled duck breast and pan-fried eggplants.
