A label in huge demand, Viña Tondonia is one of Spain’s and Rioja’s greatest institutions. For more than a century, it has been a tireless source of great wines, earning its place among the global elite of fine wine.
With her ambitious vision and uncompromising style, María José Lopez de Heredia has raised her estate to the very top of world viticulture, inspiring countless winemakers who have since become benchmarks in their own appellations. Her relentless pursuit of perfection has forged terroir-driven wines that can rival the very best, regularly celebrated by critics and especially in the Parker guide.
A true master of aging, the bodega favors exceptionally long maturation — even crafting its own barrels — with wines spending many years in large oak vats and American oak barrels, never in new wood.
