Wine:

Made from 40% old vines, including pre-phylloxera serine planted in 1930, the 2023 Saint-Joseph Préface Red masterfully combines the fruity character of the vintage with impressive depth and structure. This is a wine with substance, texture, and personality, showcasing a vibrant fruit expression and the finest reflection of its granite soils. Ripe, pure, and full of flavour, it’s a superbly balanced Saint-Joseph. The textured, spice-laden body, supported by impeccable barrel ageing, and a subtly saline finish, already make it utterly irresistible.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, totally de-stemmed, macerated for 20 days.
Aged for 14 months in 500-liter barrels and demi-muids.

Bright, intense red.

Nose:

Aromas of red and black fruits with a hint of spice.

Palate:

Pure and sapid, this well-balanced wine has a seductive structure, perfectly controlled ageing and a saline finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.
