Wine:

Made from the Zweigelt variety, the most widespread black grape variety in Austria, the 2020 Red Sweigelt Thermenregion offers a splendid balance between the aromas of fresh fruit and black cherry. Juicy, fresh, with smooth tannins, it is a very nice introduction to the richness of this Austrian vineyard! Rated 93/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested mid-September. Traditional vinification. Aged in large Austrian oak barrels.

Color:

Garnet red with purple reflections.

Nose:

Fruity and pleasant on beautiful aromas of black berries, cherries and juicy cherries.

Palate:

Fine and delicate on a supple and silky structure, this wine delivers a well-balanced palate with velvety tannins on a persistent and pleasant finish.

Temperature:

Serve at 16 to 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Roast pork and puffed potatoes, chicken risotto, Iberian ham chiffonade, aged comté cheese.
