Wine:

With a profusion of aromas and a silky, smooth texture, the 2017 red Pomerol La Gravette de Certan follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, from which it effectively takes its cues. Its intensity, its delicate fruit of macerated red and black berries, complemented by beautiful spicy notes and supported by a particularly well-suited and elegant woodiness, form an ensemble of great freshness. The palate is juicy, with creamy, juicy tannins, punctuated by fine graphite notes from the Cabernet. We're in the antechamber of a great wine, that's for sure, with harmony and balance much appreciated by our winetasting team. To be savored until 2030. Rated 94/100 by the Committee.

One of Pomerol's most adored labels, Vieux Château Certan is one of the appellation's superstars. Owned by the Thienpont family for almost a century, the vineyard is renowned for its Petrus-like clay soils, where the Merlot grapes display a unique velvety texture that evolves unrivalled with age. Two Cabernets are added to the grape varieties, enabling the wine to evolve like a great Médoc, gaining in density after around ten years.
